Character history: As a note; most of Lancelot's history is headcanon. The events that take place in Sonic and the Black Knight is the only canon material given so I expanded on it.

Sir Lancelot was born to King Ban and Queen Helen shortly before the fall of their Kingdom. Ban was forced from his main home and to a simple fort at the edge of his lands. During the final assault of the fort, Ban and his family escaped but the sight of his castle burning to the ground killed the King. Helen left Lancelot near the Misty Lake to go back and find her husband. By the time she came back, she spotted her boy in the arms of Nimue, the Lady of the Lake. She quickly vanished into the water with him and took him to her realm inside the Mist.

Lancelot spent the next 18 years under the care of the Nimue. She trained him in combat, knowledge, and chivalry. On his eighteenth birthday, she sent him to the court of King Arthur to proclaim his place as one of the King's Knights. Lancelot, with his prowess and show of chivalry, was accepted into the Knights. He quickly grew close with King Arthur and rose through the ranks of the Knights to be declared the most powerful of the Knights of the Round Table.

It was a few years later that Lancelot met Maria Shalott. He was on his way to attend a tournament when he happened upon their dwelling. He learned that one of her two brother's was ill and that they had both wished to ride at the tournament. So Lancelot agreed to go in the ill brother's stead. With his armor adorned and Lady Maria's scarf around his neck, he left for the tournament. He was defeated after many rounds by one of his fellow Knights and hurried back to Shalott Castle. There Maria tended to his wounds and helped him recover. It was during this stay that Lancelot developed feelings for Maria and she him in return.

His fellow Knights did not take long to find and him and bid him return to Camelot with them. He agreed and promised Maria he would return to visit. Over the next year, Lancelot went on many quests but during his time of rest he would spend them with Lady Maria. Unfortunately their romance was not to last. She was ill when they met and the illness only worsened. It was nearing the one year mark of their meeting when Maria felt she was to die. She placed herself in a boat and sent herself down the river, hoping to reach Lancelot before her death. Unfortunately, it was not so. She was dead when her body arrived in Camelot and was discovered by Lancelot and Arthur. Inside was a letter for him, her final farewell and her scarf.

A song was written specifically for Maria Shalott's funeral. Lancelot attended and during the entire affair was silent and responded to no one. He waited until the pyre was only embers and everyone had left before shedding his tears for Maria. To this day he keeps her letter and her token close to him, hidden inside his armor. From that day on he vowed to never fall in love again.

It was two years later that Lancelot met Elaine of Corbenic. She was a beautiful woman whose father had predicted she would bare the child of Lancelot and his name be Galahad. Lancelot originally met Elaine when he saved her from a boiling bath. She became infatuated with him and wished to fulfill her father's prophecy. To do so she turned to her maid to help her. After serving Lancelot wine she was able to seduce the drunken Lancelot. The next morning he grew angry with her and drew his sword. He only stayed his hand because she alerted him she was with his child. He kissed her instead and fled. It was sometime later that Elaine would come back into Lancelot's life during a feast at Camelot. She brought the small Galahad with her, hoping to introduce Father and Son. Lancelot was still upset with her and ignored her for the night. Once again she turned to her maid who helped Elaine sneak into Lancelot's chambers. The two again slept together but that night Lancelot dreamed of Maria and was thrown into madness.

He escaped from the Castle and Elaine went after him, leaving Galahad in her maid's care. She eventually found Lancelot in her garden, enthralled by the madness. She was able to present him with the Holy Grail, curing him of his madness. Though he did not love her, he spent several years with her as his wife. He raised Galahad as his own and trained him in the knightly ways.

Now it was a few years later that Arthur summoned Lancelot back to Camelot. He left Elaine and his son to return to his King's service. He then realized just how much the King had changed during his absence. The King was darker now and able to summon Knights of the Underworld. Loyalty overrode his judgement as he served his King willingly as he was ordered. It was soon after that Merlina fled the castle and Arthur gave chase. He was witness to her summoning a Knave to help her defeat their King. On his King's ordered, he went out to destroy Merlina and this newcomer. He did battle with Sonic in the Deep Woods and was defeated by luck. His sword taken, Lancelot set out to forge a new one and trust his comrades to take care of the Knave.

It wasn't until they had caught Merlina in Camelot that they learned the true intentions of her plot. She wanted the scabbard of Excalibur for herself so she could make the Kingdom Eternal. He teamed up with Sonic and his fellow Knights to create a barrier around Camelot so Sonic could find a way in and defeat the evil Wizard. After the final battle it was revealed that Sonic was the true King Arthur all along. Lancelot bowed before his new King before he was whisked off to another world. The Knights vowed to protect the Kingdom until his return.

Character personality: Sir Lancelot is a master of chivalry and a loyal knight. Due to his past he often comes off as cold and menacing but there is a kinder side to him. He is a champion who will seek out adventures and quests to continue to prove he is the best Knight of the Round Table. He is a calm individual and never panics. When he has a goal in mind he will do anything he must to achieve it, especially if it is an order by his King.

Lancelot is loyal to a degree of possible ridiculousness. He detests any thoughts of betrayal and will never betray someone who trusts him. He is truly chivalrous; helping the helpless, defending the innocent, and smiting the wicked. Evil acts do not go unpunished if Sir Lancelot has anything to do with it. He distrusts those with powers of Darkness and especially spell casters after the incident with Merlina, despite her intentions.

With his tough outer shell he is a hard person to get close to. He keeps most people at arms distance away emotionally and does not share much openly. He is much more likely to simply give short answers to most questions or a glare of 'you don't need to know that.' If once can get passed that shell though, they can see a softer side to the hedgehog, one that is still part of the excited 18 year old man who wished to become a Knight.

Despite his feelings towards Elaine, Lancelot does love his son. Galahad is his flesh and blood, his family, his heir. To him the boy is to be a greater knight than he, one who will save an entire nation when the time comes. He sees much potential in Galahad and pushes him to be the best he can be. This makes him seem cold to his son at times and his expectations of him are always high. At the end of the day though, Galahad is his boy and he always does his best to let his son know just how cherished he is. He wants to give his son the childhood he never had, actual loving parents and a calm kind life until battle and knighthood became a true priority.

As for his fellow Knights, Lancelot is kinder to them then most. He is loyal to them and does enjoy their friendship, though he'll seldom admit it. He also is harsher on them, his expectations of his fellow Knights much higher than others. He expects his fellow Knights to always be chivalrous and to obey their King as he does. He also does see them as weaker than him due to his powers and has always been up to prove his prowess over them. In truth they all have their strengths and weaknesses yet Lancelot is still the better of them all.

In the end Lancelot is a true Knight like from the stories. He is brave, loyal, chivalrous, and has an ego to match. He knows how powerful he is and sees many as beneath him due to this. He does not take disrespectful comments well and will challenge those he sees as insubordinate to a duel to prove his strength. On the reverse side, he can acknowledge when others are stronger than him and will do so willingly. When he gives his loyalty to someone, he will always be by their side as long as they do not betray him, though his true loyalty will always be to King Arthur. Truly Sir Lancelot is a Knight of the Round Table.

Digimon partner personality: PawnChessmon Black, or as he rather be referred as, Sir Rorke the Black Knight. He is an extremely prideful Digimon who thinks he can honestly not be beaten. Granted in all of his sparing matches he has never lost. All have fallen before his spear, though the reasoning for this is up to anyone's guess. In truth his ego is massive and will easily get the better of him, which lands him in many arguments and even duels.

Apart from being full of himself should he get a quest in mind he will do anything to pursue and accomplish it. Once he was challenged to allow none to pass over a bridge for an entire month. So for one month he stood upon the bridge and let no one cross it. None were able to beat their way passed him or even sneak by. It was only when his mission was accomplished did he finally collapse due to exhaustion after reciting his victory speech. This digimon does not take no for an answer and will charge into any quest he sees fit of his statue and prowess. He's going to be a difficult one to get along with.

Character abilities: Lancelot's chaos abilities have been stripped from him in Dive but he still has many other abilities to fall back on.

His first ability is his speed. The boots he wears are magical boots given to him by the Lady of the Lake the day he became a Knight. They allow him to skate over the ground, defying gravity and moving with speeds that match Sonic's. He can use the boots to jump into high into the air and preform complex acrobatic moves as well as attacks. He is also able to preform great acrobatic feats such as jumping into the air and coming down on an enemy with a spinning strike. He can use the homing attack as Sonic can as well.

His greatest strength is his swordsmanship. He was trained to use a bastard sword along with holding it in a reverse grip. This gives him an edge on enemies as his style is hard to predict and his skill with his sword is extraordinary. He also has great physical strength, being able to slice through stone blocks with only three to four strikes of his sword. He is adept at moving while striking and makes for one tough opponent to beat.

Sample RP: I got permission from Jeni to NPC Greg for this sample.

Sir Lancelot, Knight of the Round Table, trusted friend of King Arthur, winner of countless tournaments, renowned adventurer, father to a great knight to be. How was it, after all of these accomplishments, he could not best this challenge. He had tried everything he could think of. He strike it with his first, he tried to command it with words, he even attempted a small incantation Nimue had taught him when he was under her tutelage. None of it worked. Why was this not working? He refused to be defeated by such a simple looking puzzle. Never. He would not allow this! This was blasphemy in it's own right! He grabbed the infernal thing by it's face and began to shake it.

"YOU WILL OBEY ME! I AM SIR LANCELOT! NOW I COMMAND YOU TO PREPARE MY FEAST!" There was nothing but silence for a moment. It didn't respond nor did it give any indication he would listen to him. It was then that Greg Sanders appeared. He gently tapped Lancelot on the shoulder armor and motioned for him to step aside. The Knight nodded and did so. The human stepped forward, pressed a spot on the contraption and the door swung open. He placed in the small meal on it's black dish. He closed it again and pressed a sequence of more spots before it began to whirl.

"Next time you need help with the microwave, just ask." The man smiled and walked away, leaving Lancelot to stare and wait for his box dinner to be made ready to eat by this contraption he wished he could destroy.

Sample D-Comm Network Post:

[The camera comes on and one can see the Chess Kingdom, a town in the Kingdom actually. White, black, and gray patters make up all of the buildings and even the ground. It moved to capture a glimpse at Sir Lancelot as he continues to walk and complain to himself.]

I will find this dryad and force him to send me back. I will not allow some false god to presume he may summon me whenever he likes. I must return to Camelot.

But Sir Knight, it is impossible. The will of the God Tree is absolute.

This god tree, as you call him, will fall by my blade. I will not stand for his. I will return home and continue my vigilance for my King.

Such honor and loyalty you have! Truly you are worthy of being my Tamer! Come sir! Together we may spite the evil that plagues this world and you shall then be able to return to your world!

[Lancelot stops and slowly turns around.]

Speak more of this evil.

[Before you hear further, the camera cuts out.]
