Xros Tamer

The basic appearance of the Xros Digivice
The Xros Tamer, as its name would well indicate, is based upon the newest and ongoing Digimon anime, Digimon Xros Wars. Instead of relying primarily upon evolution, the Xros Tamer teams with a group of Digimon, and uses the power of "Digi-Xros" to combine them into stronger and stronger forms.
Note that due to the unique nature of Xros Wars in general, this Class may undergo changes and tweaks depending on how it preforms in the game.
We're giving this its own section for this Class, because applying for a Xros Tamer is more complex than any other.
In addition to noting your character as a Xros Tamer in the "Tamer Class" field for the registration, you must also list the following:
-REASON: Why you think your character should be a Xros Tamer. Note, if your character has abilities which exceed the reach of this concept, or is ill befitting it, we may recommend a different class. If a character is extremely powerful in their own right, they may not need this Class.
-XROS ARMY: All of the Tamer's Digimon partners, to a maximum of five (5) must be listed. This will be in the normal section where it asks for your partner. Additionally, you will be expected to give personality summaries on each one in the appropriate personality section. Each summary must be to the same quality as if it were a single Digimon partner.
-XROS UPS: You must list each Digi-Xros, or "Xros Up," its effects, and its attacks. These are not normal evolutions, and for the MOST part "Xros Up" results will not be established Digimon. Creativity is encouraged, but we reserve the right to deny any Xros Ups. The types of Xros Ups allowed will be laid out further down. Xros Ups that simply rip off the teams in Digimon Xros Wars will be automatically rejected.
Digi-Xros is not evolution. It is the act of combining Digimon into more and more powerful forms to replace the process of evolution. The Xros Digivice has no extra functions besides allowing access to the power of Digi-Xros, and keeping track of the forms they've attained, for easy access to Digi-Xros them in combat.
Each Xros Tamer must indicate a "Primary Partner," for which their Xros Ups will be based around. It is this partner who is supplemented, primarily, and the basis for any Xros Ups. The Primary Partner can be any level from Child to Perfect, but if Perfect will be reduced to Adult Level in strength.
The up to four additional partners can be any level up to Perfect. Ultimates are not allowed, unless it is a canon Xros Wars character, such as Nene. Perfect Digimon will lose their strength, and be reduced to Adult level in strength, just as they would if they were the primary partner. A Xros Tamer's team should be a mix of various levels, and must have one to two Child Digimon at least in that mix. Try to make sure its mixed up. All of these Digimon also lose their ability to evolve.
Remember, you are not required to have five partners. It's simply the MAXIMUM.
To start with, initially a Xros Tamer will only be able to activate a "X2 Xros Up," which is formed by combining one of their other Partners with their Primary Partner. They can have multiple X2 Xros Ups, each with different names and abilities, but they must be indicated on the application, and each must use the Primary Partner as a base.
A X2 Xros Up will be the next level up from the weakest partner of the Xros. So a Child + Adult = Adult, and Adult + Adult = Perfect. If the Primary Partner is an Adult, as Xros Tamer is the only Class where this will be allowed, they must wait until requirements for Perfect Evolution on other Classes is met before using a Xros Up between two Adult Digimon.
Once requirements are met, X3, X4, and X5 Xros Ups can be achieved. These add more Digimon to the combination, with their power maxing out at Perfect Level, regardless of however many Digimon are stacked onto it.
To reach power equal to Ultimate Level Digimon, a Xros Tamer must achieve the power of Super Evolution, which also has similar requirements. It doesn't HAVE to be an Ultimate explicitly, as this Digimon is without an actual level, but it will be of comparable power to a basic Ultimate. Super Evolution must be achieved by the Primary Partner, though it can be from their unevolved form or one of their Xros Forms. If it evolves from a Xros Form, though, it must always be achieved from that form, and this must be indicated on the application.
To compliment the Super Evolution, the Xros Tamer can Digi-Xros one Digimon at a time to the Super Evolved Digimon once requirements are met. This Xros Up can either be along the lines of a previous X2 Xros Up, or if that doesn't work for the Super Evolved form like it would the unevolved form, they can change into something akin to a Weapon Form, which is detailed below in the next section.
The more Digimon added to a Xros, the harder a time the Primary Partner may have maintaining it. If their concentration is not at their utmost, they can lose the Xros.
Of added note, a Xros Tamer can only have one active Digi-Xros at a time. They must also be present on the battlefield to maintain or initiate any Xros Forms.
Additionally - though we must know all partners and Xros Ups at the time of application or Class Change, you don't have to have your character meet all of them at once. They can be met and bonded to the Tamer one at a time, should you choose. In fact, for the aspect of role playing, this may be a preferred method. Tamers who chose to become Xros Tamers after they've already been in the Digital World awhile will have to go out and meet their new partners for certain.
Again, Digi-Xros is not evolution. While it shares some principles with Jogress Evolution, it is a different process. More or less, Digi-Xros will cause Digimon to transform to become parts of a new body, or it can also just attribute certain traits of the added Digimon to the main body of the Xros Up form, or even just become a weapon for the main body to use.
Essentially, while Jogress is a mostly organic process, Digi-Xros can be summed up as a mechanical process.
For the sake of discussing it, we will break types of Xros Ups into two categories: Combined Digimon and Weapon Form. We will use the main character of Xros Wars, Shoutmon, and his forms for examples.
X2 Xros Up
This is the first, most basic Digi-Xros your Tamer will learn how to harness. It is combining the power of two Digimon to fight as one. The Primary Partner will, in all forms, take control of any form applied to them.
-X2 Combined Digimon: Shoutmon + Ballistamon = Shoutmon X2.
In this form, Ballistamon's body transforms to essentially become a suit of armor for Shoutmon. Little of Shoutmon is actually seen in this form, except for his red head crest, and his eyes.
-Weapon Form: Shoutmon + Dorulumon = Shoutmon + Dorulu Cannon.
This form is not explicitly a new Digimon. Rather, it is a double barreled cannon that Dorulumon has transformed into for Shoutmon to wield. The cannon is stationary, but it makes up for this by packing quite a punch.
X3 to X5 Xros Up
Additionally Xros Up forms should be built off initial ones from the X2 stage. Each additional Digi-Xros component should compliment previous ones, and while this will change previous X2 states, parts of those states should still apply to the X3 to X5 states.
X3 to X5 Xros Ups' strength will always be at Perfect Level, so be sure when creating these forms to think of ways to help your battle besides sheer strength, as that won't necessarily matter. You have a team, so use it wisely!
-X3 Combined Digimon: Shoutmon + Ballistamon + Dorulumon = Shoutmon X3
Shoutmon X3 is obviously a modified variation on Shoutmon X2. The upper torso remains similar, with the arms nearly identical, and Shoutmon having manifested a new, helmeted head. Dorulumon now makes up the lower torso, giving a much more humanoid appearance to Shoutmon's form.
-Combined Digimon + Weapon Form: Shoutmon X3 + Starmon/Pickmons = Shoutmon X4
This is an example of a Weapon Form being applied to a Combined Digimon. The Starmon & Pickmons, which for our purposes we are counting as one Digimon, become the Star Sword, and this gives Shoutmon X4 new attacks beyond the ones he already had as X3.
-X5 Combined Digimon: Shoutmon X4 + Beelzebumon = Shoutmon X4B
Shoutmon X4B is an example of Taiki combining five of his Digimon into one form. As you can see, this form is most certainly still that of Shoutmon X4. Now, he's four legged and able to run faster. As well, he has wings giving him the ability to fly and a large cannon to use one of his new attacks, Chaos Flare.
In spite of how many Digimon have been added into the Digi-Xros, he still retains notable signs that he was five separate Digimon beforehand. Of course, some Xros Ups may not appear quite as obvious, but most of the time it is separate bodies gaining the ability to transform into some form or another to aid the Primary Partner's power progression. Traces of the previous Digi-Xros forms when using the same Digimon should always be present in some manner.
At any point in battle, a Xros Tamer can also use "Xros Open". This is a function of the Digivice which automatically disassembles the Xros combination into its individual components.
Below is the current forms Xros Tamers can access.
XROS TAMER
X2 Xros Up | Digi-Xros two Digimon into one form! Digimon level strength is equal to the next level above the weakest Digimon involved in the Xros. | This Xros Up can be used from the start, provided one Digimon in combination is of Child level. If the this Xros Up only involves Adult & higher, the Tamer must wait until after three months have passed, with at least one battle involving their team having happened prior. |
X3/X4/X5 Xros Up | Combine your other Digimon into one! Power maxes out at Perfect Level strength. | Tamer must be in the game for three months, and must have participated in at least one prior battle with a X2 Xros Up. |
Super Evolution | The Tamer's Primary Partner evolves into a powerful fighter! Power is equal to Ultimate Level. | Tamer must be in the game for six months, and have two prior battles with a X3, X4, or X5 Xros Up. |
Super Evolution Xros Up | Digi-Xros a single extra partner to your Primary Partner's Super Evolution. Power remains at Ultimate Level. | Tamer must be in the game for seven months, and have had one prior battle with their Super Evolved Digimon. |
At this time, we are not allowing "Double Xros" or "Great Xros" forms between two or more Tamers. This may change in the future.
Also at this time, each stage of Xros Ups only allows for four Digi-Xros forms per stage. This means that for X2 Xros Up, the Primary Partner can combine with each of his fellow teammates in some manner. However, for X3 to X5 Xros Ups, which all count within the same stage, the applicant must chose four forms among the various possible combinations of his or her Digimon.
If someone were apping Taiki from Xros Wars, for instance, this would mean that for the X3-X5 stage he could have Shoutmon X3, Shoutmon X4, Shoutmon X4B, with the addition of an extra X3-X4 slot to play with.
For the Super Evolution Digi-Xros, it acts much like the X2 Xros Up - they can have four available Digi-Xros forms.
In total, a Xros Tamer can form a total of twelve Digi-Xros forms, overall, between each stage. This number has been set towards the interest of power balance, as well as making it possible for us to judge all applications in a similar manner, and so that potential applicants will have a solid number to shoot for.
Do note, however, that you do not HAVE to have twelve Digi-Xros forms. You can have less, so long as all Digimon chosen are used in some capacity.
Lastly, it should be recognized that greater numbers does not necessarily give a Xros Tamer automatic advantage over other Classes. Soul Tamers can be extremely powerful, working in tandem with their partners or alone, while Matrix and Spirit Tamers bear their own advantages that can equal or surpass a Xros Tamer's numbers. Those numbers only matter so much early on, too, as upper stages do require the Digimon combine more and more to become a more efficient fighter.
Basically, while a Xros Tamer is nothing to sneeze at in terms of their potential power, neither is any other Class. All Tamers have a lot of potential, so just as none should underestimate you, the same applies in turn.
