MATRIX TAMER

The Matrix Tamer is based off of the characters from Digimon Tamers. It is a Class intended to give options to those who don't participate directly in combat, but still want to help amplify their Digimon's fighting ability.

They do this by utilizing an ability called "Card Slash" which uses a set series of "Option Cards" to temporarily boost their Digimon's power, or evolve them. When they reach the Ultimate Level, Tamer and Digimon unite as one being.

When applying for a Matrix Tamer, simply indicate that in the "Tamer Class" field of the application. If your character is, however, deemed too powerful with their normal abilities, we will recommend you change them to the Soul Tamer class. Remember - if your character already has a range of powers and abilities themselves, they don't NEED to be a Matrix Tamer.


- OPTION CARDS, MATRIX DIGIVICE, AND CARD SLASH -


A Matrix Tamer has a series of Option Cards allotted to them when they are accepted as that Class, which will be listed at the bottom of this page. They also recieve their own Matrix Digivice, which has a reader on its side that will read the cards when they're Slashed. Card Slashing is the act of activating the power contained within any Option Card. The effects of any given Card Slash will last for a short burst of time, generally two or three tags worth. Only a couple cards can be used at a once. After one is used, it cannot be Slashed again for an hour, or it will have no effect.

The strength of any power-up gained by Card Slashing will be equal to the level of the Digimon. Only the Digimon is affected by Option Cards, and they have no bearing on the Tamer.

A Matrix Tamer MUST be near their Digimon to Card Slash.

- CARD AND MATRIX EVOLUTION -


A Matrix Tamer evolves their Digimon in two ways: Card Slashing and Matrix Evolution Fusion. The former method applies to Adult and Perfect, while the latter applies soley to Ultimate.


MATRIX TAMER
Adult Simply Card Slash the "Super Evolution Plug-In S" card. All new Matrix Tamers can access this.
Perfect When the Tamer reaches a state of understanding and clarity, one of their cards will temporarily transform into a Blue Card which can then be slashed to evolve another stage. This requires the character to be in the game for three months, having acquired Adult Level, and having participated in at least one previous battle with said Adult Digimon.
Ultimate When the Tamer and Digimon reach a level of unity and understanding, they can fuse together to form their final level. The character must be in the game for six months, and have two prior battle evolutions to Perfect level.



In this united Ultimate level, a Matrix Tamer cannot utilize Option Cards. To compensate, a Matrix Ultimate is slightly tougher than a standard one. However, for instance, a Soul Tamer that has the ability to fight alongside their own Ultimate Digimon would still be stronger than a Matrix Ultimate.

This method of achieving Ultimate always puts a Matrix Tamer on the front lines of a battle. If the Digimon is killed, then the Tamer will die, as well, and any injuries inflicted upon the Digimon will reflect back upon the Tamer when the battle is over and they split back to their normal selves.

Ultimate Evolution must be achieved when the Digimon is at Child Level.

- MATRIX TAMER DEFENSE AND SHARED PAIN -


To make certain a Matrix Tamer is not a sitting duck in any given battle, they have been given an increased Shield Barrier. This protects the Tamer, and only the Tamer. Its output has been super charged, so attacks leveled against them will often do little good, meaning the Digimon must be attacked instead. Like with Card Slashing, the Shield Barrier must have the Digimon present to do any good.

As a trade off, heavy damage inflicted upon the Digimon's Adult and Perfect forms will reflect the pain back upon the Tamer. It may not cause actual injuries, but they can still FEEL the Digimon being hit then, which can affect their ability to fight if they're not careful.

- DARK EVOLUTION -


If a Matrix Tamer loses control of their emotions, and in particular feels a great feeling of hate and anger, they can trigger a Dark Evolution in their Digimon. It can apply to all levels, but if it is triggered at the Perfect Level it will cause a Dark Ultimate Evolution without the aid of Matrix Fusion. However, this is not helpful, as the Digimon will not be able to controlled, and will be a danger to everyone around it, including its Tamer.

Option Cards will not work if a Digimon is Dark Evolved, and there cannot be a Dark Matrix Fusion Ultimate.

The following is a list of the Option Cards all Matrix Tamers are equipped with. They are locked to that Tamer, and cannot be traded.

Super Evolution Plug-In S: Evolves your partner from Child to Adult.
High Speed Plug-In: Gives your digimon a speed boost
Offense Plug-In: Gives your digimon a boost to attack strength
Defense Plug-In: Gives your digimon a boost to defensive power.
HP Increase: Revitalizes and heals your digimon.
Alias!: Your digimon is able to create a clone of itself to absorb a hit.
Gift Of a Poisonous Flower: Digimon becomes armed with a flower that releases poisonous powder.
Metal Enhancement: Your digimon's body becomes metallic and shiney, making them more durable.
The Fastest Bliga: Your digimon becomes cloaked in a purple and white feather that increases their speed like High Speed Plug-In
Heavy Metal: Your digimon becomes armed with a piston-powered mechanical glove that delivers strong punches.
Afro: Your digimon gains a rainbow colored afro. Yes. That's it.
Digi Cannon: Your digimon gains a cannon that can be realized in front of them, aimed, and fired.
Berserk Sword: Your digimon wields a large metal blade.
Metal Axe: Your digimon gains a large, metal axe.
Training Grips: Powerful bondage grips that can be thrown at the enemy to ensnare them.
White Wings: Your digimon gains glowing white wings and the ability to fly.
Valdurmon's Purge Shine: Your digimon gains the ability to use Valdurmon's Purge Shine, a halo of light that purifies incoming attacks.
MetalGarurumon's Cocytus Breath: Your digimon gains the ability to use MetalGarurumon's Cocytus Breath, a blast of freezing cold.
JumboGamemon's Melton Hydro Laser: Your digimon gains the ability to use JumboGamemon's Melton Hydro Laser, which creates two cannons from which water can be fired.
ShineGreymon's GeoGrey Sword: Your digimon gains the ability to use ShineGreymon's GeoGrey Sword, a golden blade with the power of the earth.
Beelzebumon's Double Impact: Your digimon gains the ability to use Beelzebumon's Double Impact, and fire with a pair of double barreled pistols.
