Have a question? Want to suggest something to help the game run smoother? Just need some help in general with the game?
We're here to help!
Whether it's questions on our application process, how things in the game world function, how the Tamer Class System or Digimon evolution works, or any relevant question that might come to you? Please, feel free to ask it!
Even if you're not very knowledgeable on Digimon in general, we're willing to explain anything you need to know to get you going and having fun in the game. On staff are moderators who have extremely intricate knowledge of the Digimon franchise, so if there's a Digimon question, we can definitely find an answer quickly.
Need help coming up with a Digimon partner, or evolution line, that fits the character you're applying for? We can definitely help there, too. (Though given it is a part of understanding the Digi-Xros concept, we're going to want you to try and work out Xros Ups for Xros Tamers yourselves. But remember that is something of an advanced, time consuming Tamer Class. You don't have to dive headlong into something that difficult right away, if you're new!)
These are just a few examples, of course, so feel free to ask whatever you need to!

Date: 2012-02-13 04:56 am (UTC)So much has already been done, such as making it Community based for accessibility and convenience, along with the new coding and formats and countess other work put in place.
If I may though, I've noticed that one of the things that hasn't changed is the lack of a Character Limit. In most if not all of the successful RPGames a limit is put in place, which flexes around each individual player's ability to keep all of their Character's activity at an acceptable level. Typically the rang is anywhere from 5-15, depending on how large the Game is and how Fast it's pace.
One of the factors contributing to less activity and the 'dying' of DD on livejournal may have been that players had too many characters, and were not always able to put forth enough time into them. Another benefit of a limit is opening up slots for potential new Players, who may be intimidated by the large percentage of Characters belonging to individuals.
There is of course a downside to a Character limit, one that is very clear. As DD currently stands, it would potentially loose many of it's Character's due to Players needing to (at least temporarily) pick and choose. Along with this, CR will be lost between the characters given up and the ones remaining.
Despite this downside, another benefit of a Limit is most noticeably for the NPCs and Moderators. Having less of a flood of tags each event, being able to manage and organize fights, plot, etc without it turning into a dog-piled mess.
With DD's 'Reboot', there is no better time then to implement a Character limit. Plot wise, many of the cut/dropped characters could have been 'lost' during the literal reboot, others returning home, and some perhaps integrated/absorbed by the Antagonists.
Whether you decide to place a limit or not will be a difficult decision, with how long the game has been going, and characters with it. In the end, this is all a well meaning suggestion, and either way I hope to see the Community continue to Grow.

Date: 2012-02-13 04:01 pm (UTC)It's my pleasure. I should be thanking all the Mods and Players for their dedication and renewed interest in DD. It's always been fun to lurk, and I'm sooo looking forward to not needing to search each individual Journal to follow CR. (The magic of community tags are amazing.)
Good luck wrestling out the details and preparing for the Reopening!

Date: 2012-03-25 11:51 pm (UTC)1. First off, how do you guys feel about two characters who come from different timepoints but are considered as two separate characters in the timeline?
The character I’m actually thinking about is Mikuru Asahina (big) from the Haruhi series – she is actually distinctly different than the smaller Mikuru, even though they are the same. I’d explain more, but it goes into Surprise spoilers, which I would like to avoid in this thread.
2. And what about a character from another medium? Let’s say the character is already taken from the main medium (manga, anime, light novel), but there is a canon alternate version of that fandom which makes the character slightly different?
I think that’s it. Thanks a lot for replying in advance!

Date: 2012-03-30 01:54 pm (UTC)First off, for (big) Mikuru, unfortunately we don't think we can allow that in this case.
For the second matter, could you clarify just how the canon is different, and just what kind of medium it is? We do allow canonical AUs, we just need to get an idea of where they're from and how different they are before we can tell if they're different enough to be allowed in.

Date: 2012-03-30 06:31 pm (UTC)That's actually a question I'm going to follow up on with them and ask if that's cool? I know anime and manga can very wildly enough for them to might as well be two characters. Actually Train, Hao, and Cut Man (if you count Ruby Spears) all fall under that.
I don't plan to do it myself but I'm just backing them up.

Date: 2012-03-30 11:16 pm (UTC)Several (or, well a good majority) of the characters in there act different than canon. Haruhi's a lot nicer (and ships Nagato/Kyon), Kyon is calmer (though he does act lineface-y towards certain people), Nagato shows more emotions, and Asakura is overprotective towards Nagato.
I hope this answers your questions, and I'll be looking forward to your reply!
